Todd Ormsby, PGA

Meet Todd Ormsby — a Class A PGA Professional, coach, competitor, and founder of TAG (True Approach Golf), dedicated to growing the game through elite instruction, player development, and a passion for helping golfers of all ages succeed. Known for his positive energy and competitive background, Todd creates an environment where players can improve their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the process of getting better.

Todd’s golf journey began at the national junior level, where he became an AJGA Junior All-American and a 3-time AJGA champion. He continued his playing career as a Division I collegiate athlete at NC State, where he competed and earned victories in collegiate events while playing for one of the nation’s respected programs.

Following college, Todd competed professionally on mini tours before transitioning into the golf industry and discovering his passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of golfers. He became a certified PGA Member in 2008 — an accomplishment achieved by fewer than 12% of golf professionals — and is also a certified U.S. Kids Golf instructor.

As both a teacher and player, Todd continues to compete at a high level. He is a former Georgia PGA Junior Tour Player of the Year, has earned back-to-back Senior Player of the Year honors, and has qualified for 5 National PGA Professional Championships. His competitive drive remains strong as he continues pursuing one of his longtime goals — competing in a senior major championship.

Through TAG — True Approach Golf — Todd blends fundamentals, mindset, movement, and modern performance training into a fun and effective coaching experience. He also incorporates innovative programs such as Golf Forever and FlowCode to help players move better, swing more efficiently, and maximize their performance on and off the course.

Whether working with juniors, families, beginners, or elite competitors, Todd’s mission is simple: help every golfer enjoy the game, grow with confidence, and reach their full potential.

PERSONAL
Todd is married to fellow LPGA professional Angela Ormsby, and together they share a beautiful blended family built around faith, golf, and family. Todd is the proud father of four children — TJ, Sydney, Ty, and Laney — with golf becoming a meaningful part of their family journey together. Two of their children went on to play collegiate golf, and Todd and Angela have recently been “spoiled” with their first grandchild thanks to TJ, adding another exciting chapter to the family. Above all, Todd considers himself incredibly blessed and grateful for the family, relationships, and opportunities the game of golf has provided throughout his life.
